Overview
Temple Crag includes three prominent aretes that make up this premier rock climbing area of the Palisades, and some of the most beautiful climbing you'll ever do! Completing one route on this massive chunk of rock will only leaving you wanting to do all of them! Three days in this remote area most definitely won't feel like enough!
Routes
The most classic routes on Temple Crag are:
- 5.7 - Packed with fun climbing and wild exposure, some consider this climb to be more classic than the East Buttress of Mt. Whitney
- 5.8 - With a reputation for being one of the finest 5.8 climbs in the High Sierra, you must experience the wild and continuous exposure of this climb for yourself!
- 5.10a - 18 pitches on a striking arete, only to be topped with a thrilling Tyrolean Traverse that helps you pass a large gap!
Requisite Experience
Outdoor rock climbing experience with the ability to follow multiple pitches up to 5.7 in difficulty is required for this climb, along with being in very good physical condition. Previous backpacking experience is recommended.
